introducing myself!

Hello! Mr.Menard. I am really looking forward to your fun lessons!! Although there is going to be a tremendous amount of work, I am happy to improve to my writing! J

To start with, my name is Seung-hee Chae. In Chinese letters, it means to shine brightly and ascend to the sky. My goal is to live up to the meaning of my name. To do that, I am going to be a superb doctor and help out the sick. Some may think I would like to be a doctor to make a fortune. However, my goal is not earning money. There were true doctors that played the perfect role of helping people like Schweitzer and Taesuk Lee who worked in Tones, Africa. True doctors give hope to their patients and do their best to cure their patients taking risks if needed. These doctors are whom I’d like to resemble.
To be a true doctor, I need to improve my skills in math, science and English and get good grades in every course to get into SNU(Seoul National Univ). For now, English is the most serious problem. I especially lack of writing skills and really need to improve on that this semester. During the first semester, I had problems with grammar and because of that, my essay scores were never high. So grammar is the part where I need to improve the most during this semester.
The second part I need to fix with my writing is vocabulary. When I read my essays after I write them, I acknowledge that my vocabularies are limited which made me feel a great need to improve my vocabulary. This part is what I have to prove by myself, so during this semester, I am planning to work hard on the Frequency test and memorizes more vocabs by myself.
Improving writing skill is not achieved in a short period of time and consumes a lot of energy. However, during this semester, I am willing to push myself to the limit if needed and improve my writing skills through adopting the criticism that I will receive. Therefore by end of the semester, I do not want to be disappointed in myself and I want to be proud thinking that I really worked hard and did an outstanding work.
